Signs of Hidden Water Leaks
Hidden water leaks can go unnoticed, until you notice a large increase in the water bills. It could either be a pin-hole leak that causes water loss slowly over time, or a sudden leak that causes major water loss.

Sounds of a Hidden Water Leak

Perform Some Simple Test
If you suspect a leak try these simple steps to determine the general area of the leak:
- Shut off the water at the main water supply stop where the water enters your home, and if the sound of running water stops, then you have eliminated the outside underground water line as the source of the leak.
- Check for leaky faucets or toilets that can be causing the hissing sound of a leak.
- Shut off water to water heater to determine if leak is on the cold or hot side of the plumbing system.
Visual Damage or Dampness
Walk around your home and property, checking for damage or moisture under your water heater, dishwasher, sinks, floors, walls and ceiling. If you find no damage or moisture, then your leak is most likely underground.
